Shotguns

What a small town day I've had.
But have I loved every minute of it? Yes, yes I have.

Probably because the majority of my day was spent out at the Staheli farm.
One of my all-time favorite places.
Did I even know what that meant before I did it? Nope.
Am I a pro now? Nope.
But I had a blast.
Shot at about 20 clay pigeons. Hit zero of them.
Pretty awkward when they made me keep trying until I hit one, then the skeet ran out and I still hadn't hit one.
Oh well. It was worth it.

Another thing about skeet shooting that can get awkward is throwing them.
I mentioned to my dear friend Hilary that I wanted to try it, but of course I had earplugs in so I ended up saying it super loud and then I was forced to try.
It looks way easier than it is.
Let's just take a moment to picture the scenario.
30 people lined up on a pond bank.
Gun loaded.
Shooter says "pull".
I swing the thrower with all my might...
The bird doesn't go anywhere.
Yep, still in the thrower thing. Then that happened a bunch more times.
But yes, finally I did succeed.
And by the end of the afternoon I'd say I mastered a new skill.

After a day's adventure like that I couldn't resist watching Secondhand Lions.
Such an awesome movie.
My current #1 for sure.
I would be willing to watch it every day the rest of my life.
