Christmas Miracles

Someone recently told me that you only get one Christmas miracle. I disagree. I've had several already. Maybe they don't all fit the definition (miracle: surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is considered to be divine), but I'd say they are surprising, welcomed, and I consider them to be divine. Mostly, a lot of things have happened that make me really happy and I want to acknowledge them.
Here is a small list.

• When I arrived home tonight my friend Laura was sitting on my couch, waiting for me. She is a good friend. I couldn't be happier that she has been my unofficial roommate all semester.

•  I've played cards every single day since Thanksgiving Break. Being honest, looking forward to games each night is what gets me through the day. Thank the heavens for my incredibly reliable gamer friend Seth who is equally as faithful to the gaming lifestyle as me.

Did I take this picture in an attempt to send it to my partner and cheat? Yeah.
Did it work? No.

•  All of the sudden I have found myself with a rejuvenated love for listening to good music. I have the new Dia Frampton album on repeat and have spent way too much time organizing my iTunes lately.
• So much snow has been falling on the ground lately. It's absolutely beautiful. I love when everything is white and quiet.

• I've spent a good amount of the past month building fires and staring at them. It's alright that I get asked daily if I've been to a campfire recently and I have to reply that my house just smells like that.

• I went to a Christmas Dance and saw some tall kid give his lover girl a lift on his back so she could see. Such great observing.

• This holiday season I committed to attending an ugly sweater party with some friends and was able to experience a "Redneck Christmas." You know it's going to be a good party when you walk in and at least 50 people are crammed in one room raising their glasses to Grandma Got Ranover By A Reindeer

• I got a great Christmas card in the mail, with an inspiring Christmas story. While we're on the topic of giving. I haven't stopped eating treats that people have given me. Today I literally couldn't bring myself to eat anymore sugar, probably not a good sign. 
• I recently learned a game called The Stick Game. Basically you contort your body into a series of incredibly uncomfortable positions while keeping your hands on a stick. We used a broom. And yes, I did set the record for speed at 6 seconds.

• My neighbors hosted a gingerbread house building party last week. I built a bomb one if I do say so.

• I pulled an all nighter tonight. It was a good moment when my roommate woke up and realized I hadn't gone to bed yet. I'll sleep when I'm dead.
•  Now the best miracle of all. I met Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. Okay,  they may have been reenactors. But, seriously. This Christmas season I have had some of the best seasonal experiences of my life. My ward had the best Christmas program on Sunday and then Monday night I got to be part of a portrayal of Christ's birth. It was in a stable. There were sheep, there were shepherds, AND there was a horse pretending to be a donkey.

 Yeah, my life is pretty unbeatable lately. I can't get enough of the holiday spirit floating around. So much goodness. I hope everyone else is having as many Christmas miracles as me.
