Why?
I have three reasons.
1. It's still November and I'm grateful for the extreme sport of kayaking.
2. I never properly celebrated my recent kayak accomplishment with the virtual world.
3. Eric Jones stopped posting about it so I feel a need to fill in temporarily.
This video here may help you understand how sweet kayaking is:
If you really think about it most people would avoid getting thrown around and blasted in the face by huge rapids, but kayakers live for it.
I'm not extreme enough to conquer waterfalls yet, but I definitely have joined the Kayak Club at SUU. One of the best decisions I made all semester honestly. For a while I didn't have very much faith in my abilities because I'd been working on the C-to-C roll for about 10 weeks straight. THEN one day, I did it. Seriously, it was like magic. Witchcraft, if you will. One minute I was upside down under water, the next minute I was sitting in my kayak regular style. I was real nervous to try it a second time because I was scared it was just a fluke (like the one time I splashed myself up during week 3), but I rolled up again the second time, and the third, and the fourth, and a bunch more times after that. It was a big day for me in my kayaking progression. Next thing I know this will be me throwing caution to the wind:
