2012, a year of diversity.

My old blog was Laurel 2011.
I did it, I consistently posted through the whole year.
Now it's 2012 though.
I needed a new title, a new URL, a new blog.

Today Laura Corry gave me grief about not blogging recently.
Then I realized what I needed to do.
Blog about my diverse life.
Recently my diverse lifestyle has turned into a really overdone joke.
But I secretly love it.
These are the kinds of jokes that start with truth.
There are so many good moments of me being diverse because truthfully diversity makes me happy.

Ever since I was a child I have loved that each person on planet earth is unique.
I think unique is my favorite word in the English language.

u·nique/yo͞oˈnēk/

Adjective:
Being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else

Synonyms:
singular - single - only - sole - unparalleled

I've realized that the diversity in the world is what makes life interesting.
Learning about new things is so good.
And since every person in the world has had a different life than me, I can learn something from anyone.

Also, diversity helps me feel good about myself.
Sometimes I get caught up in comparing myself to others.
Then I have to remind myself that I wasn't created to be like others.
I have my own talents, gifts and abilities for a reason.
My strengths are other peoples weaknesses.
That is why societies function, people work together and use their differences as an advantage.

So thanks Laura. For reminding me how diverse I am. Because now I have something to blog about.
Cheers to 2012 being the most diverse year of my life so far.

Also, this is my jam for the first day of school.
