Hello again!

Today I am super tired. Why? Because I haven't gotten a full nights sleep for days. I went to Natal and back and then for our Christmas Zone Conference we went to Campina Grande and back and with our trio everything is slower. We'll see what happens this week. Hopefully things will get settled and we can get a routine that I am happy with. The zone conference was really fun. We learned about the gathering of Israel and some other trainings that were super perfect in the morning. It was really good because I got a lot of questions answered and felt the Spirit. The assistants gave a training about how to apply Preach My Gospel in your life after the mission and it was super interesting. You should study it and try to apply it in your life. It has everything you need to share the gospel, 200+ years of missionary work all in one book. Then after the spiritual part we played volleyball and foosball and air hockey and ping pong and frisbee and WiiSports for a few hours then Pres. & Sis. Hall gave all the missionaries a Christmas present and we headed back to the van for another 3 hour ride with our district. The elders in our district are funny, it was a lot of time in the van, but mostly enjoyable. I accidentally bought water with carbonation-- disgusting, but the only other option was warm water and in this heat that isn't pleasant either.

It is hard to be here without Sister Ferreira. I really miss her, but she talked to some members and they said hi to me from her so that was a happy moment this weekend. I gave a talk in church yesterday, only a few people heard because of the noise and irreverence, but I felt the Spirit so I felt edified at least. My companions were horrified at the irreverence in sacrament meeting and our investigator wanted to leave early. How embarrassing. He stayed though so hopefully he isn't too turned off because of that experience. My new companions and I are adjusting to each other. It really isn't that great to switch companions, but in time it will be better I'm sure. I am kind of the senior companion this week because I am the one who knows my way around and knows the people. It is stressful, but I am surviving. The three of us are really different. One of my companions is really bold and the other is really sweet. It makes for interesting contacts on the street. They arrived just in time to enjoy the fruits of Clariza's baptism this weekend. I am so sad Sister Ferreira wasn't there to experience it with me, but it was still a good experience. Clariza was crying, I was crying, we all walked away happy. Seriously, Clariza is so great. We have been teaching her for like 2 months and finally she recognized that she already knows everything is true and that this will bless her life. It is such a privilege to be able to see her change and learn and understand God's plan better everyday. I am so grateful for the things I learned from her and for the love I feel for her. Seriously, lots of parts of being a missionary are awful, but Clariza's baptism this weekend was a tender mercy because I remembered what is really important and what really brings joy to missionary work. When you really have a place in your heart for someone and get to see them become happier you become happier too. So yeah, that's how things are for now. Really hard, but really happy.
Tocantins is a state close to Brasilia. Apparently it isn't very well known. Sis. Matos says it is hot there just like here. Sis. Souza said Belem is hot too, but more humid. I am hoping to see some rain here in Caicó soon like everyone keeps talking about.

There is a sister in the mission that is really sick and in the hospital so if she ends up going home in the next few days our trio may be split up. We'll see what happens.
This is a photo of all the sisters who were at the zone conference. I finally met some other missionaries in the mission. Pretty soon I won't be the unknown new sister in the middle of nowhere Caicó!! All the sisters were super great. Seriously I am pretty sure all the coolest sister missionaries serve in Brazil. Except Laura who is in Idaho Falls.
These photos are the baptism of Clariza, one with just the missionaries and one with her mom Marlene too (who hopefully will be baptized soon) and Maria José (one of my favorite members in this ward who helped us teach her).

Oh and this one is with me and Elder Gomez, he is in my zone and is from Argentina and is hilarious.

Love you all!
Until next week!
