Lemonade

Two beautiful experiences I've had with lemonade recently.
Yeah, I photographed them just for the sake of the blog.

Experience #1
I'm in a car with my friends, the crew if you will.
It's a Friday so where are we going?
Costa Vida, of course.
As we're cruising down the street enjoying what was probably the warmest day of the year so far we spot this on the side of the road...
Then approximately 27 little kids come running along the sidewalk with a sign that says: LEMONADE FOR SALE.
We obviously couldn't resist flipping a U and going back to get some.
After digging through change purses and car consoles we come up with $3.
Enough for 3 cups, yeah, these kids were real entrepreneurs.
Really what impressed me most was that the little boy, who was totally the boss of the operation, informed us that we weren't allowed to keep the cups.
So pretty much these kids were fully profiting from their $1 by reusing materials on every customer.
As you can see in the picture below, the cups were super sticky and had obviously been used by multiple other people that afternoon without being washed.
Unsanitary? Probably, but I tried not to think too hard about it.
I mean what really matters is that we were contributing to these children having a happy childhood.
And from the looks of it, they couldn't get much happier.

Experience #2:
I was spring breaking in Long Beach, CA.
Picked some lemons off the lemon tree/bush out front...
Sliced them open and started squeezing...
Approximately eighteen lemons & two cramped hands later...
A full pitcher of the most sour lemonade I've ever tasted.
Don't worry I drank that whole glass full.
And about three more throughout the course of the week.
Adding more water and sugar with every swallow.
