Yes. Yes I did.
I treated myself to a delicious California Bagel at the one and only Pastry Pub, right in the heart of downtown Cedar.
There are many reasons why I love this restaurant.
To name a few...
- It's trendy.
- It's local.
- My best friend used to work there.
- Our crew suggested making a reality show with the pub being the local gathering spot.
Today I especially loved my visit to the pub though.
Why?
Because I ended up there with two top notch people, one of which I previously set a goal to become friends with.
Is it tactless to set friend goals? Don't know, don't care.
Please, allow me to give you some background on the situation.
Monday at FHE (don't know what FHE is... click here) we got divided into groups.
Me and all my roommates came late so we all went into the same group, cha-ching.
Then I perused the group, 2 randoms, my roommates potential crush, two girls we watch biggest loser with, and the boy who has been showcasing his musical talents in our ward all semester.
Of course I suggest to my roommate that we should go become friends with the musically talented boy.
Who doesn't want a friend in their life who sings like an angel?
Instead of coming with me to befriend him, my roommate just offers to make me the dinner of my choice if I approach him on my own.
You'd think I'd never been offered a home-cooked meal before judging by how soon I was pulling up a chair to chat with him.
But unfortunately our conversation was cut short after about 25 seconds and I left the church with a new goal to become his friend.
Fast forward to today, 3 days later. I met my goal.
How? Easy.
Found a mutual friend of ours, who I know really well and he has met once.
Suggest to her she pursues a friendship with him.
Within 10 minutes she has planned a lunch date with him and requested I come along.
Bottaboombottabing.
That is how it's done.
And two hours later, the pastry pub has once again succeeded in strengthening friendships over a good meal.
