triathalon

So last year I had a roommate.
Her name is Ashley Bench.
And she's a triathlete.
I'll walk you through my own experience of the Color Country Triathalon though.

Show up right at 8:00, luckily they haven't started yet.
Soon they set off on the beginning of their epic journey.
This was my favorite picture of the whole triathalon. So epic watching their formation.
They swam a complete lap around the Lake at the Hills and headed towards the biking portion.
Here is Ashley after the swim. What a champ.
And there she is taking off on her bike. Yeah, her outfit matches her bike.
That's how you know she is the real deal.
After Laura & I watched everyone we knew take off on their bikes we headed back up to the reservoir to see if there were any swimmers straggling. We watched the last guy swim in and then chatted with a couple of the safety kayakers. Our friend Eric Jones showed us some of his kayak tricks. He's so masculine.
Way impressive, right?
Then all of the sudden the guy in charge of the triathalon came booking it up the hill and told the kayakers to go back out and look for something or someone in the water because one of the bikes was still there. PANIC!
Everyone was dead silent as they ventured out into the lake to check things out. Turns out it was a false alarm. Nobody was dead in the water. Then I got over to the transition area just in time to see the first biker finish. This is the best picture I could get, he was quick.
This was the second guy to finish on the bike.
He was a minute or two behind and EVERYONE was screaming at him as he came through, "Catch him John, you can do it!"
Here comes Ashley!! Finished the biking section SO fast. Really. She made up so much time. I was so proud to be cheering for her.
Turns out Bryce ran it too. Here he is strapping on his bib.
ASHLEY WAS OFF!! And with a smile on her face. Such a winner.
Now for the moment all you readers have been waiting for... who won the race?
IT WAS JOHN! Not only did he make up those two or three minutes, but he won by even more. Turns out he is a tracklete so nobody should really be surprised he did so awesome in the run. Most impressive part was that he went back and found his fiance to run in with her!
THEN ASHLEY BENCH FINISHED!! Top 5 for the girls. An hour and twenty-five minutes I believe. So impressive.

She beat Bryce by a couple minutes, but apparently they were running together most of the way.
Here they are, my friends, the triathletes.

Am I impressed by them? Yes.
Am I going to run a triathalon in the future? Maybe.
Do I recommend everyone experiences watching a triathalon at some point? YES!

Now to leave you all with a good joke.
"We could watch Land Before Time later if you want"
"It's alright, I already know how it ends... they all die."
"Unfortunately I don't have it here
