Pronounced B-ahh-lee-boo-fay
This is our last stop before returning to Dublin.
Located as close to the border of Northern Ireland as we could get without actually crossing in.
We found some ruins on a hill, way typical for Ireland.
And I found another cliff to stand on the edge of.
Hardly scary at all after those monstrous Cliffs of Moher.
THEN...
ANOTHER BOAT RIDE!!
This time I came prepared.
With my boat shoes:
And my nautical scarf:
It was probably because I was so properly dressed for being in the water that the boat captain let me drive for a while.
I did great.
On this boat ride we visited more cliffs.
These were the Sliabh Liag cliffs.
Let me introduce them to you via video.
After the boat ride to view these cliffs we hiked up to the top of them!
Well we drove part way then hiked the rest.
There was a lot of wildlife along the trail.
Michael made friends with a lot of the sheep & goats & rams.
Look how close I got to the sheep!!
They are such fearless animals. Living on the edge of the cliff like this:
Being up on those cliffs and looking out to the ocean miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles away was truly moving.
We had some really good talks about eternity and God's love as we were taking it all in.
I really felt true joy and peace looking out at the infinite ocean and thinking about the creation.
Then I discovered the most delicious ice cream of all.
Honeycomb.
It's this wonderful candy they have crushed up, swirled with caramel, in the creamiest vanilla you'll ever eat.
And it was served on the top of the tallest cliffs in Europe from a sweet Irish man.
Then to follow the world's best ice cream.
I had the world's best meal.
My friend suggested I indulge myself and get the Monkfish & Prawn.
It was the most expensive thing on the menu, but I wasn't really feeling Seafood Chowder.
Something about the name Seafood Chowder makes me a bit hesitant.
Like they threw yesterdays leftover seafood into a vat and called it chowder...
Anyways, this was the world class meal I was served.
And that is my empty plate soon after.
Really it was by far the best meal I ate in Ireland.
No wonder Kitty Kelly's is world famous.
There were pictures of celebrities who have eaten there all over the walls.
The northern edge of southern Ireland treated me well, that's for sure!
