Hello! Hello!
I'm liking the other sisters in our house, but I
still love my companion the most. We've been getting along super well
this week. Seriously, I love serving with her. Things are going really
well. Yesterday was
full of blessings at church. There were tons of people there. I felt
super satisfied that the work we are doing is actually having results.
There were 5 investigators and a bunch of less actives and the members
are helping more in the missionary work here. This week was good. We
should be having some baptisms soon, best thing ever.
Bruno's friends came to
church again. Well, some of them. The best part is that the mom of his
friends came. She is super great. We have been teaching her every single
day this week and reading the Book of Mormon with her. Their family is
scheduled to be baptized this Sunday, but we haven't taught the commandments yet. We can only baptize the kids this Sunday
if their mom gets baptized too, but she can only get baptized if she is
willing to start living the commandments. God makes miracles happen
though so it will all work out.
I will meet the new mission president this Thursday
in interviews. I already talked to him on the phone and he was pretty
cool, it was just kind of a strange conversation to have for the first
time. Actually it was Sister Cabral who talked to him and I was just
listening on speaker phone because I don't like to use the phone. We
didn't have water in our house one day last week so we called him to see
if we could go to the church to use the water there to take a shower,
but he said it wasn't very adequate. Yeah, strange first impression
right? It worked out though, we ended up filling up 2 liter bottles with
water at the church and using them to shower, not the best experience,
but the water came back the next day and it's all good now.
That little hut is where our
investigator lives, out in the middle of the citio. He just has a
hammock to sleep in and he goes to his mom's house to eat and shower.
Ridiculous, but he likes his privacy. Sad when he feels better living
there than in the environment at his mom's house. Apparently his family
uses drugs and stuff so he wants to keep his distance.
I
am pretty sure the water at the church is fine to drink. We have
mineral water in our house and most of the members have it in their
houses too. When I am thirsty I am willing to drink basically anything,
but I try to be careful.
So we're in a different LAN House today
in the area of the elders so these pictures are old, but I don't think I
have sent them yet. It was during Festa Junina here in Mossoró. The 3rd
best place to celebrate the holidays in all of Brazil! Everything
happens at night though so we didn't really do anything cool. Someday
I'll come back and participate though.
There are 14 missionaries in
Mossoró. All of us in different areas. Our entire zone is here plus 4
more elders in the near by city of Assú. Below is a picture of our zone.
I'm out of time. Love you all! Until next week!
Sister Udy
