Before I forget,
the pictures I attached are of me, Sister Cabral, and Sister K. Johnson
(she is in our zone and stayed with us a few days the other week) eating
açai. YUM! I am so so so obsessed with açai. In my other areas I went
once in a while, but now with Sister Cabral, she loves it too so we go
weekly if not multiple times each week. It's so delicious. If there
isn't anywhere in Salt Lake that has açai I am going to have to open a
business when I get home.
The following two pictures are one of a sunset the
other night and one of our investigator's little house in the citio
that we always walk forever to get to. It is super beautiful out there
so usually it is worth it to journey in the hot sun.
Everything was pretty normal this
week. Nothing out of the ordinary. My joy of the week was that our recent convert Bruno introduced
us to all his friends for us to teach them the gospel and 3 of them
went to church yesterday.
Seriously, if only all members were like that. Is it really that hard
to ask your friends and neighbors if you can bring your missionary
friends over to share a message that will bless their lives? Yeah, it's
that easy. I'm not one to talk, I didn't really get it before my mission
either, but seriously everyone deserves to be able to have the chance
to accept or reject. Most people are actually super curious to know more
about what the Mormons believe. Anyways, I'll get off the soapbox now.
I'm super happy about how all the prophets and apostles are motivating
the members to do their part because it makes the BIGGEST difference.
So the new mission president
arrived this weekend. I haven't talked to him or met him, but he called
the elders and told them he loved all of us already. Nothing has changed
so far, but I think some things will. I hope some things will, I really
like change, it keeps the mission interesting and gets everyone more
excited and motivated to work. There are a few of my missionary friends
who stayed in the João Pessoa mission, but the majority are here in
Natal with me, what a blessing. I was super sad because I thought Sister
Johnson and Sister Hunt would stay in Campina Grande in the other
mission, BUT I found out that Sister Hunt was transferred to Sousa so I
can see her again!!!! Best news ever, still a little sad because Sister
Johnson stayed, but I really love Sister Hunt so I'm happy about that.
It's not like I really see other missionaries anyways because the areas
are so spread out. I only really see my district and monthly I see the
zone and bi- or tri- monthly we have zone conferences when I get to see
other zones. It's fine though, people come and go and there is always
someone cool to be friends with.
Sister Cabral and I are doing
great. Starting our 9th week together and haven't ripped each others
hair out yet so things are looking good. Of course 24 hours with me she
gets a little irritated at times, but it never turns ugly. I'd get
irritated with me too probably.
I think I like 4th of July
traditions better than Christmas, or maybe it is just because nobody is
commemorating anything for this holiday here. I have been brainstorming
something cool to do to celebrate with Sis. Cabral, but nothing seems
sufficient so far. There have been lots of fireworks this week because
of the Brazil soccer games, but it isn't the same. Just makes me miss
the 4th of July more. I'll survive though.
Alright, love you all. Until next week.
Sister Udy
