I'm
glad mom recognizes that I am Brazilian at heart, because I am planning
on keeping every good habit and custom that I have picked up here for
the rest of my life. Yesterday an elder that served in this
mission a few years ago was visiting the ward. He goes to BYU and said
he could take something to my family for me in Salt Lake, but it was
Sunday and we were at a members house and I had nothing to send so I
just took a picture with him and gave him our address and told him to
show up on our porch and give my family a hug for me. So we'll see if he
actually does.
This week I hit 10 months on the mission. WOOO! Unfortunately I
also got SUPER sick that same day. I guess it is a good thing that it
was my first time really getting sick as a missionary and I took some
medicine and got a blessing from Elder Christensen and now I am doing
great again like it never even happened. Sister Cabral took great care
of me too. She's such little angel. Seriously, it is such a blessing to
serve with her. She is great, super funny, teaches me all sorts of
slang from São Paulo, teaches me great Brazilian songs. I am loving
serving with her. Unfortunately our investigators are being really
difficult so I am just praying she isn't getting too disappointed.
Hopefully we'll see some big time miracles soon and she can have her
first baptism!!
Today I was
talking to Sis. Cabral and I realized that you have lived in that house
for over a year now, weird. In my head it was kind of like you just
moved in still, but time is passing really quickly. I can't believe
school is out for the summer too. Time is really different as a
missionary. No summer break. It is good though because I have purpose in
my life.
Love you all. Until next week.
Sister Udy
Oh the following photos are of the BBQ we had for lunch
yesterday at a members house. It was super great. There is a member here from the south so he knows how to do a good churrasco.
