So I stayed in the same area
with the same companion. THANK GOODNESS!! Because the rest of the
mission is a huge chaotic mess this transfer. Thirty new missionaries
arrived so TONS of people are training. I will be staying in the Brazil
Natal mission, which I am also way happy about. We have two sisters that
will come live with us again so our area will divide. I am super happy
about it because our area was huge and I am tired of walking hours
everyday just to get to all of our appointments. It will be much more
efficient now staying in only one half of the ward boundaries. I met one
of the sisters before, Sister Oliveira was in my zone in Sousa. I
taught with her for a day and it was good so hopefully she is fun to
live with. She will be training a new American sister named Sister
Anderson. It will be fun to have another American in the house and
hopefully will motivate Sister Cabral to keep practicing her English. A
bunch of my favorite missionaries went home this transfer, but I am
hoping the ones who are coming to our zone will be cool too. Hopefully
Elder Christensen stays our district leader because he is super great.
We had a zone conference this week that was the last one with President Hall. He goes home July 1.
It was a super good training. I am way excited to meet the new mission
president. I think we will meet him the first week of July. His name is
President Nogueira or something. He seems young and excited which is
good because the Brazil Natal mission has a lot of work to be done. The
church is really new in this area and growing super fast. For example,
we had another baptism this week. Her name is Gil. She was a reference
from a member and super elect. Seriously it is the best thing ever to
meet people who without being a member of the church keep the
commandments. Also, it is the best when members present their friends to
us.
We are teaching a 14 year old boy named Bruno who is SUPER great. He's going to be baptized Sunday.
The other day when we taught him the commandments I laughed so hard at
his responses and questions. We taught about not robbing God by paying
our tithing and he asked how the money gets up to heaven. Also, he asked
if America was full of war and terrorists and if I have seen a Justin
Bieber concert. Seriously, the idea people have of the US is priceless.
He is a super good kid and will for sure be an example for the rest of
his family. We are praying that his mom will be there to support him the
day of his baptism because she doesn't like to leave the house.
Things are good here. I hit 11
months this week. Almost one year. Super weird. It's starting to
pass quickly. Good thing I still have more than a third left to go!
Lots of miracles left to see!
Love you all,
Sister Udy
