Hello!

I'm sending this e-mail first this week so I don't run out of time again. Good plan, huh? So this week was basically the same as all the others. Hahaha. No, it was different because we did a split with another companionship of sisters here in Natal. Sister Borges and the missionary she is training Sister Adriane. I have done splits with Sister Borges before and it is always great. I really like her. This week was especially good though because I remembered what it felt like to have a companion who actually talks to people and testifies and takes the initiative to do her part of the work. My companion isn't horrible, but I thought of a good analogy to help you understand how I feel. Remember when I had that German exchange student living with us for a month and she just followed me around not really knowing how to communicate with people and being socially abnormal because she felt out of her comfort zone? Yeah, that is my companion, she doesn't really have social skills, but I keep telling her that she better develop some fast because she was called by God to talk to these people. I think I am too patient with her so this week I started forcing her to do more because she really has to learn or she will be a burden for all of her future companions. I am praying to be able to help her in a loving way.

I didn't really have time to tell you about our super good mission conference last week so I will tell you more now. President Costa used a scripture D&C 138:53-56 that I am now super obsessed with. Seriously applies in whatever calling you have in the church, we were all prepared and chosen before we were born, to be where we are serving. He talked about the importance of knowing who we are. Everyone who is an active member in the church was a noble and great spirit before they were born. Being born in this time period means that we were chosen to help share the gospel because if we weren't meant to do missionary work we would have been born during the apostasy. Seriously I LOVED everything he said. We have to help other people recognize who they are too because once they realize it they will want to keep God's commandments. Sister Costa talked about the priesthood and said that all women should study about the priesthood because we can learn a lot about our divine potential. She used the last half of D&C 121 and talked about being worthy and righteous so that we can use the power that God has given us. She is super virtuous. I am going to develop my virtue because it is a super powerful attribute.

Other than that this week went by again. Tons of our baptisms are falling through and I'm really frustrated about it, but the only thing to do is keep going. Our zone and district reached our baptism goal this month, but I feel like our companionship didn't do our part in helping. It is basically impossible to help others without unity, but my companion is in another world half the time and I don't know what to do to make things between us better. I just pray and work hard and keep praying more and keep hoping that tomorrow will be better than yesterday.

The following picture is a weird food I ate from Bahia and the other is me with Sister Adriane during the split, she made us lunch.

Love, Sister Udy
