Hello!

I was so happy this week thinking that Chad went through the temple. Seriously, I understand so much better the importance of making covenants with God and being worthy to enter in the temple. I am so so so grateful that I have so many family members and friends worthy of this.

The other missionaries told me that they baptized someone who is 78 a few weeks ago, age has nothing to do with the work of God. At church on Sunday someone made a comment about how in God's timeline our time on earth is incredibly short.  When our trials seem like the end of the world, in the eternal scheme of things they pass really quickly.

Grandpa's birthday dinner sounded great. I ate fish for lunch yesterday, not the best. It had the skin and eyeballs and bones and everything... I ate it just to be polite and chased it down with lots of beans and rice. I'm so grateful that they are such a staple food here.

We had interviews with Pres. Soares this week and he made a comment about how I already have 14 months, but it goes quickly, and who knows maybe I'll stay an extra transfer. Then he started talking about other things and just left the idea hanging. So who knows, I'll pray about it later. I found out today that Kristi will have already gone back to Scotland for the semester though so even if I stay a little longer I wouldn't miss out on seeing her, my decision won't be based on that, but it is one less thing to rush home for.

I'm super excited for conference this weekend, my last one as a missionary so I'll make the most of it. Thank goodness here in Natal, it shouldn't be a problem to go watch all 4 sessions.

I had the privilege of using my musical talents this week. I was asked to play in sacrament meeting yesterday. I'm sure that it didn't go as well as dad's performance and my fans definitely didn't ask for an encore, but one of the young men in the ward came up to me after and said congratulations. I didn't want to, but it was an act of charity and as a representative of Jesus Christ I'm here to serve. Ha ha. Definitely would have paid off to practice more hymns before my mission though. I played the 3 I knew and the other I just played with one hand.
The following picture is a kid we met the other day who can bend his fingers all the way back on his hand, I told him I would send the picture to the USA for him to be internationally known. Ha ha ha.

This is one of the campus signs at the university in our area.

The above picture is when I went on a split with Sis. Borges this week (hallelujah) and we went to a family night with some of her investigators. There were 5 sister missionaries there, super great. I don't know the family well, but they were super fun! Plus they made good food to eat after. It was my last split with Sis. Borges because she goes home at the end of this transfer, then I will be the oldest sister in the mission! Crazy, I know.

Well until next week!
Love you tons!
Sister Udy
